Trails in Piedmont

Piedmont wraps around Turin on three sides with the Alps, and its routes climb into them. The Strada dell'Assietta Loop from Usseaux follows the old military road along the ridge between Val Chisone and Val di Susa, above 2,500 m, one of the classic high gravel roads in the Western Alps. Lower down, the Bricherasio to Colle Vaccera Climb is a hard road ascent from the Pellice valley to a pass above 1,600 m.

The hills south and east of Turin offer a different style. The Monferrato Hills Enduro Tour covers 82 km of vineyard ridges near Asti, and the Castiglione Torinese to Pavarolo Ride tackles the short, steep climbs of the Turin hills. In Val di Susa, the Giro dei Pellegrini is a 72 km road loop from Rivoli. The Combe Loop, Mattie is the main walking option.
