Trails in Karnataka

Much of Karnataka's riding radiates from Bengaluru across the dry Deccan plateau, where the city sits at roughly 900 m. The Bangalore Hosur Century Ride is a 100 km road loop toward Tamil Nadu, the Yelahanka to Doddaballapur Ride heads north into rocky granite country, and Bengaluru to Chunchi Falls reaches a waterfall on the Arkavathi River. The Mulbagal Hill Temple Hike in Kolar is a short, sharp climb among granite boulders.

To the west the plateau drops into the Western Ghats and the coast. The Agumbe Rainforest Trek follows 14 km of evergreen forest in one of the wettest places in southern India, and the Udupi to Manipal Countryside Ride samples coastal lowlands. The nilgiri hills trail, a road trip of more than 800 km, climbs to about 2,460 m.
