Trails in Brazil

Brazil's routes here spread from the Atlantic Forest mountains of the southeast to the dunes of the northeast. The Pico da Bandeira Cristal Peaks Loop climbs to about 2,900 m in Caparaó National Park, near the country's third-highest summit, and the Cachoeira dos Garcia Hike, Aiuruoca visits a waterfall in the Serra da Mantiqueira. In Bahia, the Pati Valley Trek, Chapada Diamantina is a multi-day walk between sandstone tablelands and deep green valleys.

Long overland routes cover the interior. Minas Gerais drives cross the rolling plateau toward Brasília and Belo Horizonte, the Caminho dos Tropeiros Serra Catarinense Route follows old cattle-drover roads through the southern highlands, and the Bacabeira to Santo Amaro Lençóis Route reaches the edge of the Lençóis Maranhenses dune field in Maranhão.
