Erg Chebbi Western Piste: Merzouga to Hassi Labied
Sandy tracks run along the western edge of Erg Chebbi, the large dune field of the Tafilalt, linking Merzouga with Hassi Labied and the auberges at the northern end of the dunes. The tracks pass dune-side camps and offer views of the high dunes, the tallest close to Merzouga.

General Instructions
About 15 km one way; allow 1-2 hours each way. Lower tyre pressure for soft sand, keep momentum and avoid driving on the dunes themselves. Summer heat is extreme; October to April is best. Stay on the western side of the dunes.
