About trails in Delhi
Delhi works mainly as a launch point for long journeys, though it has a few local outings too. Cyclists training for audax brevets use the Flat Century Run for BRM practice, a 127 km loop on the city's level outskirts, and southern routes climb the rocky Aravalli ridge. Sanjay Van, a forested patch of that ridge, offers a short walk away from traffic.
The longer routes head north and east. The Ganga Canal Road (Del-HW) follows the Upper Ganga Canal for 204 km toward Haridwar at the foot of the Himalaya. Farther afield, multi-week expeditions cross the Himalaya to Ladakh on rough roads above 5,400 m, and the Delhi to Singapore - Asia Highway traces more than 5,800 km overland toward Southeast Asia.

- Ride in Delhi from October to March; April to June is extremely hot and winter mornings can bring dense smog and fog. Ladakh routes are generally open from June to September.
- Terrain
- Local routes are flat to gently rolling below 300 m, while the long expeditions include high passes, broken tarmac and river crossings that rate as hard.
- Permits & access
- Ladakh protected areas such as Nubra and Pangong require permits issued in Leh or online, and foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit; the Asia Highway route needs visas and vehicle papers for every border.
