Orchha Heritage Walk

Added on 14 Oct 2026
Logged by @trailx

A walk through the Bundela capital of Orchha: from the Ram Raja Temple across to the fort complex with Raja Mahal and the 17th-century Jahangir Mahal, down to the row of royal cenotaphs (chhatris) on the bank of the Betwa river, and up to the Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Ram Raja is the only temple where Rama is worshipped as a king.

Best time to go

Oct–Mar

October to March suits most of the country. The southwest monsoon (June to September) floods the Western Ghats and Kerala, but it is also the main season for Ladakh and Spiti, where high passes are usually open only from June to October.
