Mabuasehube Wilderness Trail

Added on 10 Oct 2026
Logged by @trailx

A remote two-day crossing of the Botswana side of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. From the pans of Mabuasehube the sand track heads west through red Kalahari dunes and open grass plains, past Mosemane Pan, the usual overnight stop. It ends at the Nossob riverbed, close to Nossob camp. Gemsbok, red hartebeest and Kalahari lions are the main residents, and there are no other travellers for days.

Trail Profile

General Instructions

About 155 km over 2 days and 1 night in a high-clearance 4x4 with low range, travelling with at least one other vehicle. Carry all fuel, water, food and firewood. Lower tyre pressures for the soft sand and expect overgrown sections that scratch paintwork. Summer heat is extreme, so April–September is the most comfortable time to go.
