Bastar Waterfalls Drive: Chitrakote to Tirathgarh
A day drive linking the two great waterfalls of Bastar. Start at Chitrakote, where the Indravati river spills over a wide horseshoe cliff (often called the Niagara of India), drive through Jagdalpur, and finish at Tirathgarh in Kanger Valley National Park, where a stream tumbles down a series of rock steps. The road crosses the forests and villages of tribal Bastar.

Best time to go
Oct–Mar
October to March suits most of the country. The southwest monsoon (June to September) floods the Western Ghats and Kerala, but it is also the main season for Ladakh and Spiti, where high passes are usually open only from June to October.
