Dakshin Kosala Drive: Chandkhuri to Rajim and Sihawa
A drive through the heart of Dakshin Kosala, the land Chhattisgarh tradition identifies as the home of Rama's mother, Kaushalya. It starts at the Mata Kaushalya temple, on an island in the lake at Chandkhuri, crosses the plains to Rajim, where the Mahanadi, Pairi and Sondur rivers meet beside the Rajiv Lochan temple, then runs south through Dhamtari to Sihawa, in the forested hills where the Mahanadi rises and tradition places the ashram of the sage Shringi.
