Tizi n'Test Pass Road: Asni to Taroudant

Added on 14 Oct 2026
Logged by @trailx

The R203 crosses the western High Atlas from the Asni valley to the Souss plain over the Tizi n'Test. North of the pass it follows the N'Fis valley past Ouirgane and Ijoukak, near the Tin Mal mosque; the southern descent is a long run of narrow hairpins towards Taroudant. The north side was badly hit by the September 2023 earthquake and roadworks have continued since.

General Instructions

About 175 km; allow 5-6 hours. The south side is a single-lane road with steep drops and few barriers, so drive in daylight and give way to trucks. Expect construction sections since the 2023 earthquake and check conditions after storms or snow in winter.
