Added on 10 Oct 2026
Logged by @trailx

The steepest and most direct route up Mount Elgon, one of the world's largest volcanic calderas. From Budadiri the trail climbs through farmland and bamboo forest, up the 'wall of death' to Sasa River Camp, then onto the heath and moorland past Mude Cave, before reaching Wagagai (4,321 m) on the caldera rim.
