Kerio Valley Climb: Biretwo to Iten
The road from Biretwo on the Kerio Valley floor up the Elgeyo Escarpment to Iten, the high-altitude running town, is one of the best-known climbs in Kenya. It gains well over 1,000 m on a paved road of hairpins, with views back across the Kerio Valley to the Tugen Hills, and is used in races such as the Great Rift Valley Challenge.
