Hike up Mont Mbapit, an old volcano between Bafoussam and Foumban, to its crater rim above a lake enclosed by walls about 200 m high. The slopes are grazed by Mbororo herders and show old lava flows.

About an hour to the rim from the Foumbot side according to operators. The grassy slopes are hot and exposed; go early. The West region is not under travel warnings, but check current FCDO advice.
