Mount Cameroon Guinness Trail

Added on 10 Oct 2026
Logged by @trailx

A brutal direct climb up West Africa's highest mountain, an active volcano. From the tea plantations above Buea the Guinness Trail climbs through rainforest to Hut 1, then straight up open grassland and lava scree past Hut 2 to the summit of Fako (4,095 m). It is the route of the annual Mount Cameroon Race of Hope.
