Majuli Island Satra Ride
A flat ride on Majuli, a large inhabited river island in the Brahmaputra reached by ferry from Nimati Ghat near Jorhat. The route links the ferry landing, Kamalabari, the royal Auniati Satra (founded around 1653) and Garamur, centres of the Vaishnavite monastic tradition of Sankaradeva.

Oct–Mar
October to March suits most of the country. The southwest monsoon (June to September) floods the Western Ghats and Kerala, but it is also the main season for Ladakh and Spiti, where high passes are usually open only from June to October.
