Mai Mahiu Escarpment Road: Limuru to Naivasha

Added on 14 Oct 2026
Logged by @trailx

The old Nairobi–Naivasha road (B3) leaves the Limuru highlands and drops down the eastern wall of the Rift Valley in a series of bends cut into the escarpment, with viewpoints looking across the valley floor to Mount Longonot and Mount Suswa. At the foot of the descent is the small chapel built by Italian prisoners of war during the Second World War, then the road crosses the valley floor via Mai Mahiu to Naivasha.
