An easy ride on a quiet island in the Mandovi river. Take the ferry from Old Goa across to Divar, then cycle through paddy fields and old Portuguese-era villages, past the hilltop church at Piedade, round through São Matias and Naroa and back to the jetty for the return ferry.

Best time to go

Oct–Mar

October to March suits most of the country. The southwest monsoon (June to September) floods the Western Ghats and Kerala, but it is also the main season for Ladakh and Spiti, where high passes are usually open only from June to October.
