Mount Karisimbi Trek

Added on 10 Oct 2026
Logged by @trailx

A climb to the highest of the Virunga volcanoes (4,507 m) on the Rwanda–DR Congo border. The trail climbs from the park edge through bamboo and Hagenia–Hypericum cloud forest, gorilla habitat, to a high camp on the saddle with Bisoke. It then crosses heath and alpine scrub to the often frosty summit.
