Highline Trail: Logan Pass to The Loop
One of the great alpine walks in North America. From Logan Pass on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, the Highline Trail follows the Garden Wall along the Continental Divide, past Haystack Pass to the historic Granite Park Chalet, then drops through old burn to The Loop on the road below. Glacier National Park is part of the Waterton Glacier International Peace Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared with Canada.

Trail Profile
General Instructions
About 18.7 km one way, mostly downhill, from Logan Pass to The Loop, with roughly 350 m of climbing. Use the park shuttle or a second car to get back to Logan Pass. The first stretch is a narrow ledge with a drop below; the trail usually opens from July once snow clears. This is grizzly country: carry bear spray and make noise.
