Quebec's routes run along the St. Lawrence, through the Laurentian forests and across farmland on converted rail lines. Drivers can take Charlevoix to Haute-Côte-Nord via Route 138, which follows the river's north shore and crosses the Saguenay fjord by ferry at Tadoussac. The Québec City to Portneuf Drive heads west along the river toward the Portneuf backroads.
Cyclists will find long, gentle rail trails such as the Parc Linéaire des Bois-Francs Ride and La Campagnarde Trail, Drummondville, both on old railway grades in the Centre-du-Québec region.
